Description

Handwoven vintage Azilal rug in wool. Azilal rugs originate from the Atlas Mountains of Morocco and are known for their light backgrounds and free geometric compositions. This piece features a more structured and elegant design: three vertical columns set against an undyed natural background, framed by a coral-red border.

Its light background and structured composition make it an easy piece to integrate into a space. It works well in living rooms, dining areas, or entrance halls where warmth and geometry are desired.

The texture is dense, with a short and even pile. As a handwoven vintage piece, it may display variations in the weave or small signs of age and use. These characteristics are part of its history and contribute to its unique character.

Care Instructions

For regular maintenance, simply vacuum gently using a medium or low setting and avoiding aggressive rotating brushes. If the size allows, vacuum in different directions to remove dust more effectively. You can also shake the rug out or air it occasionally.

Wool is a natural fibre with self-cleaning properties, so it does not require intensive cleaning.

If a stain appears, act quickly: blot the liquid without rubbing and clean with lukewarm water and a mild soap. Avoid chemical products that could damage the fibres or affect the colour. Leave the rug to air dry.

Natural fibres do not respond well to excessive water or intensive mechanical cleaning. The use of a washing machine is also not recommended.

Air the rug from time to time, even in some sunlight, to help keep it in good condition. It is also advisable to rotate the rug periodically to ensure even wear.

Avoiding the use of shoes and, if possible, placing a rug pad underneath can help protect the rug and extend its lifespan.

If the rug requires a deeper clean, we recommend taking it to a professional cleaning service.
