CARE & MAINTENANCE
These rugs are handwoven using natural fibres. With time and use, they adapt to their surroundings and develop their own character.
With wool pieces, it is normal for some fibres to shed initially. This is a natural characteristic of the material and will diminish over time with use. Walking on the rug helps the fibres settle naturally.
For regular care, gentle vacuuming is sufficient. Use a low to medium suction setting and avoid aggressive rotating brush attachments. If the size of the rug allows, vacuum in different directions to remove dust more effectively. You can also shake it out or air it occasionally.
Wool is a natural fibre with self-cleaning properties, which means it does not require intensive cleaning.
If a stain occurs, act quickly. Blot the liquid without rubbing and clean the area with lukewarm water and a mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals that may affect the fibres or colours. Allow the rug to air dry naturally.
Natural fibres do not respond well to excessive moisture or intensive mechanical cleaning. The use of a washing machine is not recommended.
Airing the rug from time to time, even with some exposure to sunlight, helps keep it in good condition. It is also advisable to rotate it periodically so that wear occurs evenly over time.
Avoiding the use of shoes and, where possible, using a rug underlay will help protect the piece and extend its lifespan.
If a deeper clean is required, we recommend using a specialist rug cleaning service.
