Description

Handwoven vintage Boujad rug in wool, featuring a square format — an uncommon proportion that already sets it apart. Boujad rugs originate from the Khouribga region in central Morocco and are recognised for their warm backgrounds in earthy pink and terracotta tones, as well as their geometric compositions enriched with vivid accents of colour within the motifs.

The background is composed of salmon and peach tones, with natural variations in colour that bring movement and depth to the surface. Across it runs a network of interconnected diamonds outlined in dark brown, structuring the entire composition. Within each motif, accents of fuchsia pink and soft aqua blue add points of colour and rhythm. The contrast between the gentle background and these vivid details is what gives the piece its distinctive vitality.

Its square format makes it particularly well suited to specific settings: beneath a round dining table, at the centre of a symmetrical living room, or as a bedroom rug. The proportions give it a strong sense of balance and make it an effective focal point within a space.

The texture is dense, with a short and even pile. As a handwoven vintage piece, it may display variations in the weave or small signs of age and use. Returns

You have 14 days from the date you receive the rug to return it. The rug must be returned in the same condition in which it was sent. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.

How to place it

Care Instructions

For regular maintenance, simply vacuum gently using a medium or low setting and avoiding aggressive rotating brushes. If the size allows, vacuum in different directions to remove dust more effectively. You can also shake the rug out or air it occasionally.

Wool is a natural fibre with self-cleaning properties, so it does not require intensive cleaning.

If a stain appears, act quickly: blot the liquid without rubbing and clean with lukewarm water and a mild soap. Avoid chemical products that could damage the fibres or affect the colour. Leave the rug to air dry.

Natural fibres do not respond well to excessive water or intensive mechanical cleaning. The use of a washing machine is also not recommended.

Air the rug from time to time, even in some sunlight, to help keep it in good condition. It is also advisable to rotate the rug periodically to ensure even wear.

Avoiding the use of shoes and, if possible, placing a rug pad underneath can help protect the rug and extend its lifespan.
