description

Handwoven Boucherouite rug with an elongated format and a composition of strong visual impact. Boucherouite rugs emerged within the domestic sphere of Morocco as a way of reusing textile remnants, recycled wool, and a variety of fibres, resulting in pieces that are always unique. This rug is a particularly compelling example of that process: a structured, almost symmetrical geometric composition created from materials given a second life.

The undyed natural background provides the foundation for a composition of diamonds and geometric forms in blue, terracotta, brown, and black. Each element carries its own visual weight and occupies a deliberate position within the overall structure. The result is an almost abstract composition, closer to a textile artwork than to a conventional rug.

Its elongated format works beautifully on the floor — in a hallway, entrance space, or living room — but it also gains a different dimension when displayed on a wall, where it reads almost as a pictorial textile work.
