Description
Berber Boujad rug in natural wool, high-pile with an ecru ground closed by an ochre band above and a fine red stripe below. Across the field, a linear black drawing: a ladder, lozenges and vertical strokes with small red tips.
It belongs to our Archive selection: rugs woven decades ago and kept intact, their wool and weave spared the wear of time. As with any handmade work, slight variations in weft, knot or colour may appear; we photograph each piece as faithfully as possible, though tones may shift with the light of each screen. Before shipping, we brush it carefully.

How to place it
This rug is part of our Archive selection, handwoven by Amazigh artisans using traditional weaving techniques from the Atlas Mountains.
These rugs were woven some years ago within the continuity of the traditional weaving practice. While they do not show the wear associated with vintage pieces, they retain the freedom of composition, vivid colours, and spontaneous character that define these works.
Each piece is unique and has been individually selected for the distinctiveness of its colour, pattern, or textile presence. As with all handcrafted work, slight variations in weave, texture, or dimensions may occur. These nuances are part of the character of each piece.
We try to photograph each rug as faithfully as possible. If you need more images or additional information, we will be delighted to help you.
Before shipping, all our rugs are carefully brushed.
Care Instructions
Wool is a natural fibre with self-cleaning properties, so it does not require intensive cleaning.
If a stain appears, act quickly: blot the liquid without rubbing and clean with lukewarm water and a mild soap. Avoid chemical products that could damage the fibres or affect the colour. Leave the rug to air dry.
Natural fibres do not respond well to excessive water or intensive mechanical cleaning. The use of a washing machine is also not recommended.
Air the rug from time to time, even in some sunlight, to help keep it in good condition. It is also advisable to rotate the rug periodically to ensure even wear.
Avoiding the use of shoes and, if possible, placing a rug pad underneath can help protect the rug and extend its lifespan.
If the rug requires a deeper clean, we recommend taking it to a professional cleaning service.
